CARTMEL FELL & DISTRICT LOCAL HISTORY SOCIETY presents:


Chris Donaldson


A talk on the connections between American and Cumbrian histories (with links to Harriet Martineau).


Dr. Christopher Donaldson is a Senior Lecturer in Cultural History at Lancaster University who specialises in the history of the Lake District, including the life and work of author and reformer Harriet Martineau.


Cartmel Fell History Society members can attend these events for free, and visitors may also attend for £5 paid on the door.



The History society meets regularly at Cartmel Fell Parish Hall and puts reminders of its programme on Facebook.
