Defibrillator
Our Defibrillator is one of 110,000 registered on The Circuit.
Cartmel Fell Community Trust has a dedicated guardian who ensures that the defibrillator at the Parish Hall is checked regularly and that its status is registered on ’The Circuit’.
The Circuit is a database of defibrillator locations managed by the British Heart Foundation that provides ambulance services the confidence that this defibrillator is ready to help save a life.

Every minute without CPR and defibrillation reduces the chance of someone's survival by up to 10 percent.

Checking our defibrillator status and ensuring it is registered is an important part of caring for our community and visitors. It means that when you call 999, they will be able to tell you if the defibrillator is ready to be used and they will give you the code to access it within the box.

You can also play in an important part by familiarising yourself with how a defibrillator works.

A defibrillator is a device that gives a jolt of energy to the heart. It helps get the heart beating again when someone is in cardiac arrest and their heart has stopped. The device checks the person’s heart rhythm and will only tell you to give them a shock if it’s needed. Anyone can use a defibrillator and it will give clear step-by-step voice instructions.
